Pianist Floris Schoute graduated on French horn from the Hilversum Conservatory. He is a main contributor to the repertoire of the Amsterdam Jazz Sextet with many of his original compositions and arrangements used. The houseboat of the Schoute family serves as rehearsal room for the Sextet. The houseboat is situated on the spectacular waterfront close to the Bimhuis, Temple of Jazz in Amsterdam.
